Smoothies
Here are some delicious smoothie ideas to use up the fruit that is laying around and doing nothing. We're turning those fruity castaways into super-yummy smoothies that are good for you and taste amazing!
Let's make a super refreshing watermelon smoothie! It's perfect for using up leftover watermelon.
What you'll need:
About 2 cups of cubed watermelon (no seeds, please!)
1 ripe banana (it makes it creamy and sweet!)
1/2 cup of your favorite juice (like apple or orange) or milk (or water!)
A handful of ice (optional, but makes it extra cold and refreshing)
Optional: A few leaves of fresh mint or a squeeze of lime for extra flavor!
Let's blend!
Throw it all in: Put the watermelon, banana, and juice (or milk/water) into a blender.
Add ice (if you want): If you like your smoothies super cold, add a handful of ice.
Blend, blend, blend: Put the lid on the blender and blend it all up until it's smooth and creamy.
Taste test: Give it a taste! If you want it sweeter, you could add a little honey or agave. If you want it a bit more tangy, add a squeeze of lime.
Pour and enjoy: Pour your smoothie into a glass and enjoy it right away! You can add a mint leaf on top for extra coolness!
